CROCKET (Ital. uncinetti, Fr. crochet, crosse, Ger. Hdklein, Knollen), in architecture, an ornament running up the sides of gablets, hood-moulds, pinnacles, spires; generally a winding stem like a creeping plant, with flowers or leaves projecting at intervals, and terminating in a finial.
