GEOGRAPHICAL NAMES |
VYRNWY (Fyrnwy), an artificial lake or reservoir in the northwest of Montgomeryshire, N. Wales, constructed for the Liverpool water-supply. It was formed by damming the river Vyrnwy, which runs through Montgomeryshire and joins the Severn above Shrewsbury (see Water-Supply).
