ScendTek's ZyView 2.0 is a powerful but simple Web based database system developed in Perl for use on most Unix workstations. ZyView works in conjuction with an NCSA HTTP server in order to respond to user requests for information. It allows the information provider to store information in a database and make this information available to Web broswers by generating HTML "views" of the data "On-the-Fly".

We have provided an on-line example of how ZyView 2.0 can be used to manage data. This example database, "basic", is designed to show you the various data types that ZyView allows you to manage in your database.
The following database was configured with a single ZyView configuration file.
ZyView also provides a view called "manage" that provides a easy to use database management form to allow you to access all the basic database manage functions. To try the "manage" view, use http://scendtek.com/scbin/zyview/D=basic/V=manage
ZyView provides a simple security scheme allowing you to create protected or restricted views of your database. As an example, we have specified that a view called "protect" is a protected view. To access record 22 using this view, you will have to enter a user name of user, and a password of simple. Try to access the "protect" view now: http://scendtek.com/scbin/zyview/D=basic/V=protect/R=22
