The Sydney Opera House was conceived and largely built by Danish architect Jorn Utzon, who in 2003 received the Pritzker Prize, architecture's highest honour, largely for this one, great work.

The Opera House is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is one of the most distinctive buildings of the 20th century, and one of the most famous performing arts centres in the world.
