The Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha or Alabasterd Mosque, situated on the Citadel of Cairo, was commissioned by Muhammad Ali Pasha between 1830 and 1848.

The largest mosque to be built in the first half of the 19th century, it is the most visible one in Cairo.

Its domed structure was modeled after Hagia Sophia Greek Orthodox cathedral (now Hagia Sophia museum) in Constantinople (now Istanbul).
