Granitz Hunting Chateau on the Island of Rugen

Granitz Hunting Chateau on the Island of Rugen, Germany photo

SOURCE: Courtesy of the German National Tourist Board, used with permission.

In the deep green beech forests on the island of Rugen, a magnificent building sits enthroned like something from a fairy tale.

Granitz Hunting Chateau was inspired by the building enthusiasm of Prince Malte von Putbus and the design of star architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel.
