Heidelberg Castle

Heidelberg Castle was first a fortification built around 1398-1410.

During the 16th and 17th centuries the fortress was turned into a castle with Gothic and Renaissance features.

It was destroyed and rebuilt several times.

Today the Castle is used for banquets, balls, theater performances, and classical concerts.

The structure is surrounded by a park.
