St. Nicholas Church and Town Hall, Vorpommern

St. Nicholas Church and Town Hall, Vorpommern, Germany photo

SOURCE: Courtesy of the German National Tourist Board, used with permission.

The rich tradesmen who called Stralsund home built the most beautiful brick town hall in the North, along with three impressive churches.

The fact that the first of the houses ringing the marketplace directly abuts the church is a sign of the close links between religious and worldly power.

Visitors to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern will also enjoy exploring the tracks left by its exciting history off the beaten tourist paths.
