Dionisiou Areopagitou Street, Athens, Greece photo

SOURCE: Greek National Tourism Organization, used with permission.

Dionysiou Areopagitou Street runs along the length of the Southern base of the Acropolis.

At the oposite side of the street, not seen here, is the entrance of the Acropolis museum, Dionysos restaurant, with a spectacular view of the Acropolis, and a number of notable buildings, old and new.

The street is a pedestrian thoroughfare, which leads to other archeological sites as well, such as the ancient agora, Theseum (Temple of Hephaestus), and the monument of Philopapos.
