Bridge over Itinneq river, part of the Arctic Circle Trail

The Arctic Circle Trail, a quintessentially Greenlandic waymarked trail, starts at the international airport at Kangerlussuaq, near the ice cap, to Sisimiut on the coast.

The trail is 165 kilometers long, and and it can take about nine days to complete. It passes by traditional Inuit reindeer-hunting areas and most water sources along the trail, rivers and lakes, are perfectly clean and can be used without treatment.
