Castlewellan Castle, County Down, Ulster

Castlewellan, a large village in County Down, Northern Ireland, is beside Castlewellan Lake and Slievenaslat mountain.

Near the town of Castlewellan is the Castlewellan Forest Park, National Arboretum and gardens and the Peace Maze.

The castle was constructed from local granite and overlooks a mile long lake surrounded by woodland and mature parkland, where guided tours of the Arboretum and gardens are available.
