![]() Sumida River, Tokyo Sumida River (Japanese: Sumida-gawa), a river that flows through Tokyo, branches from the Arakawa River at Iwabuchi and flows into Tokyo Bay. Its tributaries include the Kanda and Shakujii rivers. A 40 minute cruise on Sumida River, passing under a dozen historic bridges, each one unique and architecturally interesting, is part of standard Tokyo tours offered to tourists.
