Lookout point, Geirangerfjord, More and Romsdal, West Norway

Because of the spectacular scenery around Geiranger fjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the small village of Geiranger, with a permanent population of only 250 people, has tourism as its main business.

There are five hotels and over ten camping sites. The tourist season stretches from May to early September.

The "Geiranger - From Fjord to Summit" event takes place every June, consisting of a half marathon run and a bicycle race, both starting from the sea level at the fjord and ending at the 1,497 meter summit of Mount Dalsnibba.
