Ice climbing, Rjukan, Telemark, Norway photo
Ice climbing, Rjukan, Telemark

Rjukan is renowned as the best location in Northern Europe for ice climbing, with over 170 frozen waterfalls in a particularly long and stable winter season providing optimum conditions for climbers from all over the world.

The mountains around Rjukan are ideal for all sorts of hikes and excursions, fishing and outdoor pursuits in the summer, and skiing in the winter.

The area offers adventures, such as cannyonig, rock climbing (including indoor and outdoor courses), Norway's toughest bungee jump, rappell in the magnificent canyon at Vemork, as well as boat trips, cycle trips, farm vacations, hunting, horseback riding and the Rjukan swimmingpool complex.
