Arctic Circle marker, Todoy, Nordland, North Norway Nordland, a county in the northwestern coast of the Scandinavian peninsula in North Norway, spans the Arctic Circle, with North-South mountain rainges, coastal plains, many fjords and islands. It is located far from populated areas, and it is one of the least poluted areas in Europe. With a very narrow continental shelf, and the deep ocean close to the coast, the sea creates a climate more moderate than any other place in the arctic, making it one of the most productive seas in the world, providing food all year round since ancient times.
