Skyline, Johannesburg, Gauteng province

Johannesburg, the largest city in South Africa. Johannesburg is the provincial capital of Gauteng, the wealthiest province in South Africa, having the largest economy of any metropolitan region in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Johannesburg was born with the discovery of gold in 1886, and from what was rolling grassland 150 years ago rose a great city.

Far from being a dusty, concrete-filled city, Johannesburg is filled with leafy trees and has dozens of spacious green lungs. Each region has its own flagship park, among the many smaller ones.
