The Storms River flows to through Tsitsikamma National Forest on the Garden Route, before emptying into the ocean.

As a tourist testination, the area includes accommodation ranging from Backpackers, Bed and Breakfast establishments to Three Star Hotels.

Among the offerings in the area are the Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour, an eco-wilderness adventure that consists of traversing from one platform to another along a steel cable suspended up to 30 meters above the forest floor; driving through the old Storms River pass in a specially designed vehicle; and tour boat rides on Storms River.
