Trail at Karoo National Park, Beaufort West, Western Cape province Beaufort West is the largest town in the arid Great Karoo region. The Karoo is a semi-desert region of South Africa, consisting of two main sub-regions: the Great Karoo in the north and the Little Karoo in the south. An area of special interest in the Karoo National Park is the Klipspringer Mountain Pass, which not only provides visitors with spectacular views, but the pass is also an example of civil engineering toil and precision.
