The Bodhi Chai Vision Bodhi, in Sanskrit means "awakened." The noun form of bodhi is Buddha, or "awakened one." The vision behind bodhi chai is one of awakening -- awakening our senses and our hearts to our world and those with whom we share it. Ten percent of all profits from the sale of Bodhi Chai are donated to nonprofit organizations and individuals working to preserve and protect the culture and human rights of the Tibetan people. Company Profile Bodhi Chai is based in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. We make chai and only chai. We sell our chai throughout North America, and accept trans-continental orders as well. Bodhi Chai founder, Ted Olsen, a former public interest attorney and a long-time practioner of Tibetan Buddhism began brewing Chai years ago when a fellow Buddhist from Nepal handed him an old Nepalese chai recipe.
