Brazil Photos https://theodora.com/wfb/photos/brazil/brazil_photos_28.html SOURCE: Renze Willem Brems Itapua is one of the sub-districts of Salvador, the capital of the state of Bahia. About 15.53 mi from the center of Salvador, it is frequented by tourists and local residents. There you will find the Abaete Lagoon and Itapua beach lighthouse. Itapua has luxurious resort hotels, such as the Sofitel and Pousada Villa Aquamarina. There are luxury houses, condominiums and numerous typical and international restaurants. In the "old" Itapua, however, life is still as in the old past, with narrow streets, small shops and markets. In the new Itapua there are excellent shopping, banks, commerce and services. The beach bungalows serve fish, sea foods, snacks, coconut water and drinks with local singers. With hundreds of high coconut trees, the Itapua beach is a favorite with Salvador residents. Located at north of the city, it is directly on the Atlantic Ocean, providing in some places, surfing and diving. It has been identified as a spawning point for sea turtles, for which there is a conservation office. Itapua is located a few minutes from the international airport (4.97 mi).
